Just an Introduction
Hey. My name is Don and I’m from central PA. I’m currently a cook and a community organizer, also working on a home business helping intentional communities construct their bylaws, agreements, arbitration etc in a way that will actually attain the stated purpose of that community.
I have a daughter who is 5 and home-educated. We don’t as yet use any type of curriculum and plan to aim for an ‘unschooling’ approach, with some structure added here and there as seems useful. Thus far we’ve mostly focused on giving her a solid moral and social understanding, as well as a fairly deep presentation (for her age) of the natural phenomena such as the water cycle, the human body, ecology of animals. Some volunteer work around the town (street and waterway cleanup). Also a fair bit of Pokemon and some gardening.

Don you’re already ahead in the game my friend. We used unschooling for years because it taught our kids a love of learning. Structure will come in time. She’s learning tons from you right now. We will have a full curriculum implemented soon and you can use Firefly Chalkboard to create course content for her if there’s something specific she’s interested in.
