Firefly Code of Conduct for Users

Welcome to Firefly Education Network! This Code of Conduct outlines the community expectations for students, families, and participants using our home education platform. By participating in the Firefly community, you agree to uphold these guidelines in order to maintain a respectful, engaging, and values-aligned learning environment for all.

We are honored to have you with us and hope your experience is meaningful, enriching, and fulfilling.

1. Respect for Foundational Principles

Firefly is built on Christian values and principles of individual liberty. While we welcome users from diverse backgrounds, we ask that all members:

• Respect the foundational mission and culture of the platform.

• Refrain from actively promoting belief systems or political ideologies that are in clear opposition to our core principles (e.g., Marxism, communism, socialism).

• Avoid proselytizing non-Christian religions within the platform.

• Approach discussions of alternative political, religious, or philosophical systems in a balanced, academic manner, under the guidance of approved instructors. Respectful, mature dialogue is essential to healthy discourse.

2. Curriculum and Content Standards

Faith-Based Foundation

• Christian teachings serve as the guiding framework for spiritual and moral instruction.

• Other belief systems may be explored objectively in academic contexts (e.g., world history, comparative religion) but will not be presented as preferred or endorsed alternatives.

Content Restrictions

To ensure a safe and age-appropriate experience:

• Sexually explicit content in any form is strictly prohibited.

• Conversations of a sexual nature outside of appropriate, age-sensitive academic instruction (e.g., biology, family life education) are not permitted.

• Content promoting gender theories or ideologies that conflict with biological and biblical understandings will not be allowed on the platform.

3. Community Conduct

All members—students, parents, and guardians—are expected to engage with one another in a spirit of mutual respect and integrity.

Respectful Engagement

• Treat others with kindness and dignity regardless of personal beliefs.

• Harassment, bullying, or intimidation—whether directed at peers, families, instructors, or staff—will not be tolerated.

• Disrespectful behavior or hostile interactions undermine the community and are subject to disciplinary review.

Racial Discrimination

• Firefly stands firmly against racism or prejudice of any kind.

• Respect for all people—regardless of race, ethnicity, or cultural background—is required.

• This includes but is not limited to individuals who identify as:

  • Caucasian

  • African American

  • Hispanic/Latino

  • Asian

  • Indigenous

  • Middle Eastern

  • Pacific Islander

  • Or any other ethnic or cultural group

4. Platform Participation Guidelines

Integrity and Conduct

• Uphold high standards of honesty, fairness, and moral character in all interactions.

Political Neutrality in Discourse

• Political discussion should remain academic and balanced.

• Advocacy for ideologies that conflict with Firefly’s mission is not permitted.

Creating a Safe Environment

• All participants are expected to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and principle-aligned environment.

• Content or behavior that creates discomfort or discord within the community may be subject to moderation or removal.

5. Accountability and Consequences

• Violations of this Code—including disrespecting community standards, promoting disallowed content, or failing to maintain respectful conduct—may result in suspension from the platform.

• A formal review process will follow. Reinstatement may occur on a probationary basis, with continued participation contingent on adherence to the Code.

• Repeated or serious infractions may result in permanent removal without refund.

Firefly reserves the right to assess and respond to all conduct violations at its discretion.

• You agree to uphold the principles and expectations outlined herein.

• You understand that failure to comply may result in restricted access or permanent removal.
